Tip of the Day: Always read your own work before asking for comments/review

Critique partners, beta readers and editors are valuable resources for any writer, however, ensure that you aren’t sending them something that doesn’t make any sense at all. Read your own writing before sending it out for comments/review.

  1. I’m going to add an additional point to this: always re-read any blog posts, emails, tweets, Facebook posts, or anything else that will go out the door. But remember you’re human, some things will slip through. If you notice the mistake, and you can correct it (as you can with blog posts and Facebook posts), then do so immediately. Unfortunately, things like Tweets and emails are there forever — you can’t take them back. (However, you can delete Tweets.)
